Peter Price (footballer, born 1949)
Peter Price was a Welsh footballer (soccer player) who played professionally in England for a decade that spanned the 1960s and 1970s. He was one of that generation who bridged the gap between terminological eras, beginning his career as an inside forward and ending it as a striker〔As football moved from 1-2-3-5 to 1-4-3-3/1-4-2-4〕 despite playing a similar role throughout. After an apprenticeship and full-time pro at Liverpool〔“The PFA Premier League and Football League Players’ Records 1946-98” Hugman,B: Harpenden, Queen Anne Press, 1998 ISBN 1-85291-585-4〕 he joined Peterborough,〔(Report of 1960’s “Posh” match )〕 during which time he played for the Welsh Under 23 side scoring the winning goad against Scotland at Swansea〔”Rothmans Football Year Book,1970-71” Peskett,R/Williams,T: Harpenden, QAP,1970 ISBN 0-362-00071-9〕 for whom he scored 62 goals in 119 appearances.
